WORDS WITH KATRIN
Hi! My name is Katrin. I am a fifteen year old girl from the Faroe Islands – a tiny country way out in the north Atlantic. I live with my mum, dad, little brother and cat in the capital, Tórshavn.
I love to do pretty much any type of crafting, but polymer clay is definitely my favorite  When I am not crafting or making videos, I like to read and watch 'nerdy' movies – such as “The Lord of the Rings”, “Batman” and “Pirates of the Caribbean” - with my little brother.
I am currently in ninth grade, which is the last required year of school where I live. Next year I will be going to high school, majoring in social science, which I am very excited about :)

Katrin is a stunning craft artist with so much talent. She now has a total of over 2300 fans on her YouTube channel with over 100 000 in views. Katrin has the cutest polymer clay creations and I simply love her personality. She does not do your normal looking clay items, but takes a different twist to the things she makes which I find really refreshing. She is definitely one to watch in the craft scene.

INTERVIEW WITH KATRIN
1. At what age did you start crafting?
I've been painting and drawing my whole life, but I started working with polymer clay at the age of fourteen. I did craft once in a while before that, but that was when I really got into it :)

2. Tell us how you decided to make videos for YouTube.
Honestly, I have no idea at all. I just randomly decided to start a YouTube channel, and, well I think it was probably one of my best decisions ever :)

3. What is your main goal on YouTube as a crafting guru?
Well, I don't really consider myself a guru, but my main goal with my YouTube channel is to share my ideas. I want to show my viewers, that everyone can craft. Creativity makes life so much more fun!

4. What kind of videos do you make on YouTube?
I mainly do tutorials and charm updates, but sometimes I upload random videos like hauls, package openings and vlog-ish videos ;)

5. Do you sell your creations?
Yes, I do sell my creations, however not internationally, because I am quite busy with school at the moment. But my mum has promised to consider letting me sell internationally after my exams ;)

6. What are other hobbies you have besides your forte?
I like to read :) I also write a little, draw, do nail art, knit and crochet.

7. How long do you see yourself on YouTube?
Hopefully for several years to come! I love YouTube :) It has honestly changed my life. When I started making videos on YouTube, I did not have a lot of self confidence, due to bullying. All the positive feedback I've gotten on YouTube has been a huge help – I am much more confident now, than I was when I started making videos. YouTube is a big part of who I am now, and I have no intentions of letting that part go anytime soon :)

8. What are your thoughts on the crafting community on YouTube?
I love it! Everyone is so nice and polite :) And I love the fact that it is growing. I definitely don't agree with the people who think it's getting too big. The more the merrier! ^_^
But I do think that the guys in the crafting community could be treated a bit better. I feel like they are getting more hate than girls, because there are so few of them, that crafting is considered girly and feminine :(

9. User savvy tip for future crafttubers?
Don't think too much about subscriber count and your amount of views. Just focus on making whatever videos you'd like to. The numbers don't make you who you are – your passion for crafting does :)

10. Inspiring message for us and your viewers?
Be who you are, and don't let the haters get to you! You are perfect just the way you are. No one has the right to tell you otherwise. Keep doing what you love. It does not matter, what everyone else thinks :)
”Those who mind, don't matter, and those who matter, don't mind”
