My name is Alejandra but my friends call me Ale (Ah-leh) hence craftsbyALE. I am 14 years old (15 on March 24 dont forger that!) I was born in Florida (and have never moved) but none of my parents nor grandparents nor great parents were American. My dad's Portuguese and my mom's Venezuelan. I have 3 other siblings so its a family of 6. I have two older brothers and a younger sister. I make plushies and polymer clay items and enjoy it oh so much! 

If you ever came across Ale's channel, you would notice her cheerful disposition before anything else. She has a great talent for DIY and makes the cutest kinds of creations, you would be hooked before you even know it. To date, Ale has over 770 subscribers on YouTube with 40 000 views on her channel and is gaining a huge following. She is a true inspiration with her style and demeanor.

INTERVIEW WITH ALE

1. At what age did you start crafting?

I've always been into just making anything. like when i was younger i made my imaginary friend out of cotton balls and markers! but i got into sewing when i was like 10 and i got into plushie making near the end of 2011 and polymer clay like the beginning of 2012.

2. Tell us how you decided to make videos for YouTube.

I've always really wanted a YouTube channel even before i got into plushie making. one day my sewing machine was jammed and i was trying to look up how to fix it on YouTube and i stumbled across one of TammyHallam's videos and i even remember the date (December 26, 2011) and i decided it would be a cool idea if i made one as well!

3. What is your main goal on YouTube as a crafting guru?

everyone says this but honestly, its to inspire. there is no greater feeling than when someone leaves a comment on my video telling me that they made something inspired by me! its incredible. Also, another goal is just to take my mind off of my life and just craft and keep myself busy for some time and at the same time, teach others how to do it.

4. What kind of videos do you make on YouTube?

Mainly craft videos. i do have like one or two vlogs, tag videos, and updates. Most of my videos are tutorials for plushies and sometimes even polymer clay. 

5. Do you sell your creations?

No i do not. I've wanted to for a long time but i feel like its too much to handle and i would feel bad if i messed up peoples orders. All of my friends have encouraged  me to start selling but i don't think i will yet. Hopefully in the future i will, though!

6. What are other hobbies you have besides your forte?

I like to play sports (even though im not good!) i like to play volleyball. I play a little guitar. I also play a little bit of video games.

7. How long do you see yourself on YouTube?

Oof that's a hard question.... I think I'll always be here but maybe ill just be progressively less consistent with videos. Hopefully i could stay for a long time because i made some awesome friends and i really enjoy what i do!

8. What are your thoughts on the crafting community on YouTube?

It's like the best thing ever! Everyone is so extremely kind and they're all passionate about what they do. One of my favorite thing about the crafting community is that we're always backing each other up. We're like one big worldwide family and its so amazing to see us all connect in one common interest! I'm so glad I can be a part of this!

9. User savvy tips for future craftubers?

I feel one of the biggest things for videos is the length and quality. Make sure your camera is still and not that shaky (a tripod would help). Also, edit the parts that no one cares to see because that will add up to the length of the video and no one wants to watch a video that's too long. If necessary, split it into parts. Also, explain what you're doing as well as you can, don't confuse the viewers. My last tip is to try to stay active with your subscribers! show them that your care for them and that you're glad they watch your videos!

10. Inspiring message for us and your viewers?

Don't let anyone tell you to stop something you're passionate about.If you love it, continue. No one knows you as well as you do and no one has the right to keep you from doing something you love, just make sure you're heart is in the right place.
